5/5Goodyear UltraGrip 9+Fitted only to the front for winter, as the back has all season tyres. Amazing on icy and frosty roads. I've not tried them in deeper snow than an inch but they do well on snow as well. First thoughts in dry conditions were that there was a hint of understeer and they felt a little soft but once you get used to that the grip and handling are excellent. I've taken them off now for the warmer weather and have not tested them above 8 degrees. The wear is hardly noticeable.

5/5Kumho Ecowing ES31I bought Kumho Ecowing ES31s after one of my front tyres surrendered after I hit a huge pothole on a bad road in the New Forest. The old tyre did 15,000 miles and was already a replacement. The other front tyre was changed as well as it was getting slashed by sharp stones and flint on the gravel road I drive on daily to get to the main road. These tyres are brilliant value for money, offering great grip on both dry and wet roads. They don't seem to wear out quickly as the rubber looks long-lasting and the tread is still almost new after 4,000 miles. They are quiet for a tyre on the motorway and I have driven a bit more carefully and there was an improvement noticed with fuel economy, about 10-12 miles more per tank. Now I get around 485 miles for a fuel consumption of 40 litres of diesel, …
