Quatrac 5 Tyres description & features

Quatrac 5 by Vredestein is the asymmetrical premium all season tyre with dry and snowy sections. The dry-road cornering outer section has larger and firmer blocks. The inner wet-road section has more open channels with denser fine slits for water and snow removal. Vredestein’s 3D Sipe Technology is responsible for keeping the blocks shape on wet and snowy road surface, while the Full Silica Compound is created for better flexibility at low temperatures.

The Quatrac 5 is the successor of the Quatrac 3 and has the 3PMSF marking on its sidewall. These tyres are proven to comply with the snow traction requirements as they have the appropriate marking. In addition, there was another variant of Quatrac 5 – Quatrac 5 SUV with a reinforced casing to deal with the added weight of an SUV. The tyres can be purchased from Tyres.co.uk.

My expectations for these aren't too high. They do feel a bit soft from time to time, and the grip isn't what I expected. I'm looking forward to testing these out in the winter months.

These tyres are pretty good. I didn't expect these to grip as well as the summer Eagle F1s I used to have, and they don't. The new tyres certainly perform better in colder weather and managed the recent snow well.

During the summer, I used to work with Michelin, while I worked with Avon during the winter. The new tyres have dealt with the various conditions (Nov-Feb), from freezing roads to slippery wet ones. I'm hoping for the same performance with the tyre in hot conditions. Also, not having to change to summer tyres, I save money, time, and storage space!

My previous tyres wore out really fast and often slipped. By contrast, these tyres still look almost new and appear to grip well in wet and dry conditions. I'm not really certain of the miles covered, but we are currently in June and I put them on in March, and there are no problems to report. Check out the photos of the tyres taken in June.

The tyres excel in wet conditions. I drive long distances on rural roads which can flood or freeze over. I have had no issues with hydroplaning with them versus my previous tyres. They also have a strong grip in snow and ice which is ideal for the Scottish weather. The best part is because they are all season tyres I don't need to change them over.

I have been really satisfied with how much these tyres have improved the handling of my MX5. Of course, I am only praising them because the old tyres were over 15 years old, so anything was an improvement. I also appreciate how quiet these tyres are, as it really helps in my convertible which is close to the ground.

These tyres have performed well in all conditions such as snow, rain, or dry weather. I haven't tested them on ice yet. When new, they had 7mm of tread. My fuel consumption appears to be the same as I had with my previous tyres, the Goodyear Wrangler HP.

They excel in both wet and dry conditions, and also perform well on loose surfaces (mud and gravel). On tarmac I also perform well, and my lap times were similar to, if not slightly better than, my old summer tyres, even though these tyres are a different size and I am not a pro racer! This was tested on tyres in temperatures over 10C. I have not tested tyres in colder conditions, or tried tested tyres on ice or snow, and cannot speak to how summer tyres hold up over time.

These tyres were meant for an additional set of rims I've got for winter, and they've been really great. Handling in the wet is amazing. I have driven through a big rain storm and they handled it all perfectly. The grip is great in the wet and dry, which surprised me a lot. I can't really say too much about comfort and noise because my car is really loud and quite bumpy, but they were good, and I barely noticed a difference with my summer Michelins. I haven't tested them in snow but they are meant to be good. Overall, a brilliant all-season tyre that is perfect for the UK as it is often cold and rainy in winter, but not enough snow for winter tyres.

Brilliant! I had Michelin CrossClimates before, and these have better grip in snow and rain, and they don't wear down as quickly. I will definitely buy these again when the time comes, but after 16k miles, I still have 4mm of tread remaining.

Last winter, I found these tyres very good. Driving to skiing places where the roads are covered in snow and ice was not a problem. When I got these tyres fitted, I also selected the garage to do the front wheel alignment. However, nine months down the line, the front tyres had worn down to the legal limit on the inside and became very smooth and slippery on ice. If the garage fitter does not align them properly, it becomes quite expensive for the tyres to not even last a year.

I have Vredestein all-season tyres on my Fiat Panda, size 155/80/13. There were only two options I could find in this size, and these had the best stats. Previously, I used to have summers from Michelin and winters from Avon, and I used to have to change them each season. The Vredestein all-season tyres perform well in both cold and warm temperatures, and the car feels better compared to when I had the Michelin and Avon. I like the grip, fuel efficiency and longevity. I would definitely recommend these for smaller cars like the Panda.

I bought these tyres the first time for my car around Christmas of 2019. I experienced two blowouts after a week of getting the tyres, and I was hesitant to get them again. But, I noticed that the previous winter was milder so it could have been unlucky circumstances. A few months ago, I had limited options for tyres and decided to go with these again and I'm so glad I did! The tyres are very quiet even with my 18-inch wheels, and they feel smooth with great grip in the snow and cold, as well as excellent handling. Overall, I really enjoy driving these tyres!

They have improved how my 1998 Polo drives. The ones it came with were awful. I was the first to change them to Vredesteins. While it's not an easy size to find now, i'm glad I did not compromise on price and quality with some unknown brand. I have them. I have decent grip, comfort and silence. A year later, they are still well.

These tyres are excellent. I was able to drive up some extremely steep untreated roads, both when there was about 3 inches of fresh snow and then again several days later when the snow was compacted ice, and I did so without any issues. I've also been able to drive on some pretty crazy roads with these. I value how well these tyres perform and how quiet they are. They're so much better than the Continentals I had before.

We have yet to try them in snowy conditions, but they have been outstanding in both hot and cold conditions, and on rain soaked roads. They are also stable, quiet, and have great grip. They do, however, seem to be quite particular about tyre pressure.

These tyres are consistent with their grip in all conditions, but they especially excel in icy or mildly snowy conditions. Our workplace car park has a steep incline and these tyres were able to keep hold of enough grip to pull the car up even with a sheet of ice. I have experienced a small dip in "feel" from the tyres which I, in part, attribute to the cold temperatures, or perhaps even to a larger proportion of natural rubber than is ideal. All things considered, I am very happy with them.

They are much quieter on the road, offer better grip in wet conditions, and give overall better steadiness. I would absolutely buy these tyres again and would definitely recommend them to anyone with a 2002-2006 Honda CR-V.

Excellent traction when it's raining. I feel confident when accelerating, no wheel spin. The corners are managed well with good stability for the car. After around 10,000 miles with normal driving, tread wear is almost non-existent. Just so you know, they are fitted on my taxi. Overall, I am pleased with my choice, and it feels very safe and comfortable.
