4/5Goodyear ExcellenceDecent tyres and they have been fine in the rain so far. The ride is a bit firmer than I expected and there is a fair bit of road noise on coarse surfaces, but the grip is good and I would buy them again.
5/5Continental Premium Contact 6These tyres, originally provided with the car, have caused no issues. They were purchased as a substitute for a tyre which could not be repaired because of a puncture.
5/5Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 060I have been enjoying a new driving experience thanks to these tyres. Regardless of the weather, I feel I have outstanding traction. Noise reduction is another significant advantage. I'm sure they will make me feel safe and confident on long journeys.
5/5Bridgestone Potenza S001I'm happy to report that the performance of the tyres has met my expectations. Because of the mild weather, I have not yet had the opportunity to see how they perform in icy road conditions.
2/5Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 2)These tyres don't seem designed for British roads. I've had several performance cars with low profile tyres over 12 years, and I've never had a sidewall bulge until I got my 4 series. I've had to replace these tyres three times in the last year and a half, two times because of bulges (one tyre had three for reasons I can't explain) and then there was a case of a hidden bulge suddenly deflating the tyre on a local road (thankfully not the motorway) after it popped. I tried to avoid these issues as much as possible by slowing down to prevent these issues from hitting potholes, but of course then I had to replace the tyres. Goodyear doesn't seem to deal with issues like these. I only gave them 2 stars because the grip was actually decent in dry and wet conditions and the braking is impressive (the wet grip is particularly impressive). But I would rather not replace the tyres every time I hit a minor bump in the road.
5/5Nankang AS-2+They are a good value for the performance they provide. They are performing great in every scenario I have faced up to this point. Since the first drive, they have seemed much greater than the previous set I had on my car.
4/5Michelin Pilot Sport 3Yes. However, the back end can sometimes slide out. Just typical quirks of the MX5.
4/5Bridgestone Potenza RE050AAs expected, these are perfectly fine since they were fitted when the car was new.
5/5Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 3)In poor weather conditions, it has great grip as well as being fuel efficient.
5/5Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 3)The tyres have worked great so far. My last set from this brand and model was very durable, so I hope these new ones are just as good. I'm not a fan of the noise on some roads, especially the rough motorways, but overall they're excellent.
4/5Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SThey do perform decently, but there are now other high-performance tyres that either match or exceed the PS4s. I might look into trying those next.
