Safety

What should I do if I get a flat tyre?

What to do immediately after a flat tyre:

  • Safely pull over - do not stop on blind bends or other risky areas.
  • Activate hazard warning lights.
  • Evaluate the situation - Can the wheel be changed safely? Is it a motorway?

What you can do

  • Change the wheel yourself, if it is safe to do so and you have a spare
  • If you have a tyre repair kit (sealant and compressor), you can use that as a temporary measure
  • If the wheel cannot be changed safely, especially on a motorway, call roadside assistance.

Driving on a tyre that is completely flat is very dangerous, as it can cause damage to the wheel rim.
