How do I manage a slow puncture safely?

Managing a slow puncture

Next steps

  • Look for any obvious items in the tread, such as screws or nails. If you find one, leave it as it is sealing the hole and slowing the loss of air.
  • Pump the tyre up to its recommended pressure.
  • Take extra care driving to the nearest garage to have it properly checked. Avoid motorway and high-speed driving.

If air is losing quickly

If the tyre is losing air quickly and cannot be pumped up, do not drive on it. Use your spare wheel, tyre repair kit, or call roadside assistance.
