Most of the time, this is possible. As long as the nail is in the centre of the tread and hasn't caused any wide-reaching structural damage, the tyre can often be repaired.

What you can do

• Don't pull out the nail. Removing it will cause the tyre to lose air faster.
• If necessary, check and add some air to the tyre.
• Be careful driving to the nearest garage to have it professionally repaired.

The technician will be able to determine if the tyre can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. This will be determined by how big the puncture is, where it is located, and if there has been any damage to the inside of the tyre.
