What is tyre sealant?
Tyre sealant explained
Tyre sealant is a liquid compound that is injected into the tyre through the valve stem. It coats the inside of the tyre and can temporarily seal small puncture holes to allow you to drive to a garage.
Limitations
- Only effective for small punctures in the tread area
- Will not work for large holes, tears or sidewall damage
- It is a temporary fix, not a permanent repair
- The tyre should still be inspected by a professional as soon as possible
Many modern cars are supplied with a sealant and compressor kit instead of a spare wheel.
