Can I drive with a punctured tyre?

Driving with a punctured tyre

If the tyre is still holding pressure

If the puncture is minor and the tyre is still holding reasonable pressure, you may be able to drive carefully to a nearby garage at low speed. Avoid motorways and keep your speed down.

If the tyre is flat or losing air quickly

Do not drive on a flat tyre. You risk damaging the wheel rim, the tyre beyond repair, and your ability to control the vehicle. Use your spare wheel, tyre repair kit, or call roadside assistance.

Run flat tyres

If you have run flat tyres, you can continue driving at up to 50 mph for up to 50 miles after the TPMS warning activates. Head to a garage as soon as possible.
