How much fuel the tyre uses as it rolls. Graded A to E, where A is the most efficient and E the least.
How well the tyre stops in the wet. Graded A to E, where A is the shortest stopping distance. Each grade is worth roughly 3 metres, about a car length.
How loud the tyre is from outside the car, measured in decibels. Graded A to C, where A is the quietest.
Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
Built to handle both summer and winter conditions, so the same tyres can stay on all year instead of being swapped twice.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
205/75 R16 is a 16-inch tyre size found on some models of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and some of the Volkswagen Crafter vans. 205 is the metric tyre width in millimetres. 75 is the aspect ratio: sidewall height is 75% of 205mm, or about 154mm. R16 means that the tyre has radial construction and fits on a 16-inch rim, which gives an overall diameter of about 714mm. That sidewall does help with broken roads. At Tyres.co.uk, we stock 205/75 R16, including C-marked versions.
