However, since changing to these new tyres, the performance has been excellent in the cold and wet conditions, and the performance has noticeably improved straight out of the box.

I noticed a slight improvement in fuel efficiency and a little less noise from the road, but going over speed bumps is a little rougher. Since I don't push my car too hard, I haven't noticed any issues with grip.
