Subaru Sumo Tyres

The Subaru Sumo is a convenient compact people carrier. Its tyres should help achieve reliable and stable journeys. Trip after trip, everyday passenger transport is made easier. Subaru Sumo tyres should give the driver extra confidence on the variable and unpredictable wet roads of the UK courtesy of solid grip and braking. Subarus with a more touring orientated setup should have enhanced riding, lower rolling resistance, and improved quietness.

The Subaru Sumo offers no standardised tyre across it’s long range of variations by model year, generation, trim, engine and factory wheel options. Tyres for the Subaru Sumo should comply with the manufacturers terms and conditions for approval of safety and comfort. For compliance and safety the existing tyre sidewall, vehicle handbook or registration should dictate fitment.

Tyres.co.uk lets Subaru Sumo owners compare relevant tyres by brand, price, and performance, and then book convenience local fitting of their selection.

These tyres were extremely good on a wet trip with snow and ice in Spain. On this 2000-mile journey, I experienced no slips, skids, or aquaplaning.

The tyres are good, but they make a lot of noise on the road. Everything else is okay, but the road noise is not great.

The tyres were reasonably priced and compared with the ones originally provided with the vehicle.

The car came fitted with these tyres and, despite the price, I have been very pleased with them. I only changed them as they were flagged on an MOT for some cracking on the sidewalls after six years, despite there still being over 2.5mm of tread remaining. They are great, durable tyres.

Michelin Agilis 3
Tyre review for Michelin Agilis 3 215/65R16
4.00/5
The Michelin Agilis 3 tyres work exceptionally well in wet conditions and are excellent at managing high weight capacities. Personally, I carry a lot of tools and materials in my van and I would recommend these tyres. They are also very quiet when driving, so there is no noise.

The noise generated by these tyres is rather reasonable as they appear to be wearing in nicely. They also handle remarkably well and braking is quite effective.

I replaced the two rear tyres after doing the front ones and one tyre from the front and back needs to be inflated every 6 to 8 weeks.

The front tyres will most likely need to be replaced soon, while the rears are about halfway worn. Traction in wet conditions is good and the wear seems to be what would be expected.

Subaru Sumo Tyre Questions Answered

Tyres.co.uk recommends tyres for the Subaru Sumo based on generation, year, drivetrain and original wheel fitment. This means that the Sumo cannot be confirmed for one tyre model or size. Check the driver's door tyre placard and registration. Then, before ordering, ensure you have matched the size, load index, speed rating, and construction.

Information regarding the tyre size of the Subaru Sumo can be found on the tyre-pressure placard located on the driver's side door jamb inside the door. The placard specifies the approved tyre sizes and their corresponding pressures; in the case of older Subaru Sumos with changes to the wheels, consult the tyre sidewall, the owner's manual, and the handbook.

Subaru Sumo rear-wheel-drive versions don't require four replacement tyres automatically however replacing tyres in pairs per axle is preferable. The later ECVT full-time 4WD version requires closely matched tyres on all four wheels and selectable-4WD versions need to be of matching size prior to switching to 4WD. When replacing two tyres, make sure to place them on the rear axle.
