The Continental ContiSportContact 5 is a summer tyre which Conti describe as ultra-high-performance. It focuses on enhancing both dry and wet braking distances and utilises Conti’s Black Chili compound which is a braking and cornering aid. The asymmetric tread has large outer blocks to strengthen cornering. The tread innovation is a front-to-back groove system which has a mini block inner edge to aid wet braking and road clearance through the tread.

There are ContiSeal versions which contain a viscous layer which seals punctures from objects up to 5 mm. SSR versions have a sidewall reinforcement which protects the tyre and allows flexibility to travel for a short distance (under 80 km) and at a slowed speed. The ContiSportContact 5 was the precursor to the SportContact 6 and is also a summer tyre. Continental’s other max-performance summer tyre. Tyres provide excellent grip, regardless of whether the road is dry or wet, as the steering is always steady, and feels secure. Generally, they are quiet on the road, because on concrete motorways at high speeds it does tend to get quite noisy, but I'd definitely buy them again.
