ZZ3 Tyres description & features

Avon ZZ3 summer performance tyre has directional tread which is supposed to be used in conditions of dry roads and water displacement. Avon ZZ3 is fitted with lots of grooves which help remove water from the contact area of the tyre. Directional tread is used not only for fast driving but also for water displacement.

Directional tread is designed to reduce rolling resistance and ensure even wear of tread. Avon ZZ3 tyre is suitable for summer season when the temperature rises to 7 degrees and above. Tyres.co.uk delivers Avon ZZ3.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
What makes this tyre so special is how well it grips in the wet. In my opinion, it is much better than the Continental Sport Contacts that were on my car, and is quieter on the road.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
While these tyres are a bit noisy, they provide great feedback and handle exceptionally. Steeling is more precise and light, however, they could perform better on wet surfaces due to an acceleration jump. All in all, these are very good tyres.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
These tyres provide excellent handling in the wet, and the Jag, even with a heavy estate, corners beautifully on them. I normally get about 19,000 to 20,000 miles out of a front pair. The inner edges wear out faster than the rest of the tread, but front alignment has been checked and is okay, and I've been told the camber is non-adjustable. For 20,000 miles, I can't complain. They aren't noisy so no issues there. They may have slightly higher rolling resistance, but I think the wet performance is better than one other Avon option. I would choose wet handling and braking performance over rolling resistance any day. My car came with Pirelli P4s but these Avons are just as good if not better and a little more budget friendly too.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
Compared to the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s and the Continental Sport Contact 3s these are a lot quieter and seem to stop better in wet conditions. The steering is also great and perhaps better because it feels lighter and more nimble. I'll have to wait and see how they hold up long term.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
Unlike my previous tyres, these ones do a much better job at avoiding road noise and give better grip in rain, shine, and of course, everything in between. They also increase comfort while driving and better improve response time to steering adjustments. After 8,000 miles, they still show very little wear and tear and I am pleased with them.

The tread pattern looks good. Sidewalls are a bit more flexible than the Bridgestone Potenza RE050s I swapped them for and provide a more comfortable ride. Great value.

Tyre review for Avon ZZ3 225/35R18
I had these tyres on my Proton Satria GTi and they're okay but I would consider them mid-range, not premium. Tread life was pretty typical of mid-range tyres; they lasted me about 15,000 miles and wore evenly. However, I didn't think they provided amazing grip in drier conditions when driving a bit hard. Their performance in the wet was really bad steering and hoping for the best. They were also pretty loud. I had an issue with these directional tyres where they pulled the car slightly to the left when driving straight. After I had the tracking and wheel alignment done and finally changed to an asymmetrical pattern, the car started driving fine. I would personally say either spend a bit more on something like a Goodyear for better performance, safety, and longer tread life, or spend less and get something like a Toyo or Kumho, which have better grip and the same tread wear.
