What is balancing?

Balancing refers to even weight distribution around the wheel and tyre assembly. If weight is not evenly distributed, some issues that may occur include:

• Vibration of the steering wheel, particularly at greater speeds
• Uneven wear on your tyres, which results in new tyres needing to be replaced sooner
• Increased wear on steering and suspension components

After fitting your new tyres, your fitter will balance each wheel. This is done with a machine that detects imbalances and places small weights on the rim.
