The Nankang NR-066 is a summer car tyre designed for effective water clearance from the tread and maintaining dry-road handling. The NR-066 has an asymmetric tread design in which the outer and inner tread sections are separated. The grooves in the inner tread section run from the outer tread to the bottom of the tread to help with water clearance. Slits and grooves in the tread design help with grip when braking and cornering.
As the tread is asymmetric, the outer sidewall marking must be facing outwards when the tyre is mounted on a vehicle.
