Excellent choice for a Hilux - primarily road use in the Highlands with a bit of off road and limited motorway use. Good value.

About these reviews

Tyre reviews recording 245/70 R17, across tyre brands and tread ranges. Each review identifies its tyre range.

5/5

Bridgestone Dueler D684II

I have only used them for a brief period, but so far, I am quite pleased with the purchase.

Tyre size 245/70 R17 is typically found on larger SUVs, 4x4s and similar vehicles and has a long sidewall which helps cushion the tyre against rough roads. Dimensions of the tyre are simple to understand. 245 means the tyre is 245mm wide. The 70 is the sidewall aspect ratio which means 70% of the 245mm width, which equates to 172mm. R17 means the tyre is a radial on a 17-inch rim. The complete diameter of the tyre is 775mm. Tyres.co.uk stocks 245/70 R17 and 245/70 R17 XL and C versions.

Part of the size	Value	What it means
Section width	245	The width of the tyre across the tread, measured in millimetres.
Profile (aspect ratio)	70	Sidewall height as a percentage of the width - here, 70% of 245 mm (about 172 mm).
Construction	R	Radial construction, which is what nearly all road tyres use.
Rim diameter	17	The wheel diameter the tyre fits, measured in inches.
