What wheel balancing does

Balancing ensures that the weight is evenly distributed around the wheel and tyre assembly. Even small imbalances can cause:

• Vibration through the steering wheel, especially at higher speeds
• Uneven tyre wear, reducing the lifespan of your new tyres
• Increased wear on steering and suspension components

Your fitter will balance each wheel after fitting your new tyres. This is done using a machine that detects any imbalance and applies small weights to the rim to correct it.
