The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 uses an asymmetric tread design to maximise both responsiveness and braking. The tread is split into distinct block layouts. Goodyear has a special name for their braking tech; they call it ActiveBraking Technology. This design creates an edge of braking tread to maximise the surface area of rubber in contact with the road during braking. Coupled with this tech is Power Cushion Technology, which adds stiffness and improves the connection for steering response.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the new and improved version of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 SUV also has the same asymmetric tread layout, but uses a different casing designed to hold the greater weights of SUVs and crossovers. Although these tyres aren't the best match for my car, I chose them for their price. I only realised after they were fitted that the rims are unprotected. The tread wears down quicker than I would prefer, and in my opinion, the quality does not justify the price I paid.

I do think it may be a little premature to make a definitive statement on the wear, but I did notice a stark difference after changing out the old tyres.
