How much fuel the tyre uses as it rolls. Graded A to E, where A is the most efficient and E the least.
How well the tyre stops in the wet. Graded A to E, where A is the shortest stopping distance. Each grade is worth roughly 3 metres, about a car length.
How loud the tyre is from outside the car, measured in decibels. Graded A to C, where A is the quietest.
Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.
Built to handle both summer and winter conditions, so the same tyres can stay on all year instead of being swapped twice.
255/55 R19 is standard fitment on large SUVs such as the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg. The first number is the width in millimetres, so this is a 255mm wide tyre. The second number is the sidewall in relation to the width; this sidewall is 55% or 140mm. R19 means that this is a radial tyre with a 19-inch inner diameter, so the overall diameter of the tyre is 763mm. The tall sidewall is an advantage on bad roads. We sell 255/55 R19 on Tyres.co.uk, including the extra load (XL) versions.
