Product description & features

The Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 is a winter tyre designed with a directional V-shaped tread for improving traction on snow, slush, and rain. The tread pattern assists in exposing fresh edge and surface grip as it displaces slush and water away from the centre and ashy and snow packed edges with jagged bite. The tread also utilises a winter specific, high-density silica compound, which is blended with Yokohama’s orange oil, to sustain performance at lower temperatures.

The sidewall is imprinted with the 3PMSF and M+S symbols. The former denotes certification for performance in severe snowy conditions, while the latter indicates performance in mud and snow. The BluEarth has optimal performance in temperatures at or below 7°C. The rubber compound helps maintain grip performance on cold, dry roads. Tyres.co.uk sells the Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905.

Highlights

  • Directional V-shaped tread

Tyre review for Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 255/55R18 109V XL
Considering the price, they are very good. They have good traction and rolling resistance with winter tyre road noise, although there may be other tyres that are better.

Amazing. I have driven on icy, snowy and frosty roads for almost an entire winter and my car has not slipped or hesitated. I would definitely recommend these tyres and will certainly buy them again when the time comes.

Tyre review for Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 255/55R18 109V XL
As we have moved to the countryside, getting winter tyres felt appropriate as we appreciated the extra road grip for the more challenging roads. This was our first experience buying tyres online and it was smooth. We will for sure recommend this to our son. Thanks!

I changed the tyres on my Tesla Model Y, which is rear-wheel drive, because my summer Bridgestone tyres were awful in the snow. I chose Winter tyres to give me better grip. These new ones are excellent. The car goes through deep water and snow without any issues. The only downside I suppose is the added road noise, but you get used to it very quickly. I will change to summer tyres in April, but I am genuinely happy with these and the price was good. I strongly recommend these for a Tesla.

The tyres perform well in wet conditions. I have yet to experience snow, so I'm unable to comment on their winter capabilities. They are also quite road noise.

Tyre review for Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 255/55R18 109V XL
Though winter just began and it is still early in the season, I have some positive impressions already. I notice that the steering is not very 'mushy' like most winter tyres are and so it feels good. I have yet to test them on snow, but for wet, damp, and icy conditions; the tyres grip surprisingly well. They ride smooth and are quiet. I suspect the fuel economy is on par with the Continental summer tyres we usually have, but I have yet to check it myself.
