Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 uses an asymmetric tread design to maximise both responsiveness and braking. The tread is split into distinct block layouts. Goodyear has a special name for their braking tech; they call it ActiveBraking Technology. This design creates an edge of braking tread to maximise the surface area of rubber in contact with the road during braking. Coupled with this tech is Power Cushion Technology, which adds stiffness and improves the connection for steering response.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the new and improved version of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 SUV also has the same asymmetric tread layout, but uses a different casing designed to hold the greater weights of SUVs and crossovers. Tyres.co.uk sells the full line of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres, including the heavier SUV variants.

Highlights

  • Asymmetric tread design
  • Braking tread edge
  • Stiffer steering response
  • SUV casing for heavier vehicles

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/55R17 97Y
It's a bit early to say for certain since I've only had them for about a month. They're a bit more expensive, but the performance is great. I have chosen this brand on my previous cars as well.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/55R17 97Y
They appear to provide better grip in all conditions than the tyres that were fitted by the manufacturer on the car.
