The Dunlop SP QuattroMaxx is the summer tyre designed specifically for SUV and 4x4 vehicles, providing excellent stability at high speed driving on the motorway. It features the asymmetric tread pattern with large blocks on the outer side, providing stability while steering, as well as inner channels that get rid of the water from the tyre. The Silica Plus compound is the tread pattern used for good dry and wet roads’ grip. At high speeds, the tread is supported by the nylon band.

The Dunlop SP QuattroMaxx 2 replaced the Dunlop SP QuattroMaxx tyre. In some versions, it has the MFS Rim protection System by Dunlop, which is a rubber pad absorbing impact of the tyre contacting the kerb. The Dunlop SP QuattroMaxx is available at Tyres.co.uk.

The tyres have good tread that show their longevity, will perform good in future driving conditions, but the noise level will be the same.

I have fitted Dunlop Quattromax tyres on my 4x4 Ford Kuga, and they work well regarding grip and making little noise. The last set on the front got over 12,000 miles, mostly motorway and high speed, but some tough off-road trips on weekends. They also do very well on wet roads, and with careful off-road driving, they do well in muddy and hilly places. I am happy enough to get them again for my car.

In an interval of four years, I've bought four full sets of these tyres, and I cannot complain, they are fantastic on the Q7, with the right pressure and a proper alignment you can get really good wear out of these. I keep my rear tyres at 49psi and my front tyres at 44psi. With that set up I get good even wear across all tyres, and I manage to get over 15,000 miles on a set driving really aggressively for a heavy car. Overall, I'm happy with them.

The new front tyres have made a considerable difference to steering, which is particularly noticeable when parking and while driving on the motorway. They are excellent in wet weather and the noise level is so much lower that it's like driving a completely different car.
