Product description & features

The Continental Sport Contact 5 is a premium summer tyre. The BlackChili compound used provides impressive braking and cornering control. The Sport Contact 5 uses an asymmetric tread design. Larger tread blocks are placed on the outer edge for cornering and braking support. Centre tread blocks stiffen at high speeds and a steady line is maintained by the centre ribs. The 3D grooves remove water from the contact patch.

The Sport Contact 5’s successor is the SportContact 6. The SportContact 6 also comes in ContiSeal and SSR constructions. ContiSeal tyres have a sealing layer beneath the tread which seals punctures up to 5mm. SSR (Self Supporting Runflat) tyres are constructed with reinforced sidewalls that support the vehicle after a loss of air pressure. Tyres.co.uk has extensive stocks of the Continental Sport Contact 5 in SSR and ContiSeal constructions.

Tyre review for Continental Sport Contact 5 255/35R18 94Y XL
The tyres offer excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions. As a rear-wheel-drive car owner, I can count on these tyres to give me the confidence that I can stop the car and it will hold and give me peace of mind.

Tyre review for Continental Sport Contact 5 255/35R18 94Y XL
To me, the good manufacturing quality is evidenced by the Smooth Ride requiring much less balancing weight compared to the old set.

They seem promising at the moment. I wonder about their performance during winter and how long they last.
