The Continental eContact is a summer tyre for electric vehicles (EVs). It is designed to minimise the rolling resistance of the energy stored in the battery. The construction is uniquely designed for use on electric and hybrid vehicles. Continental uses Green Chili on the eContact, which generates less heat. The result is less energy wasted as the tyre rolls. The sidewall has been designed to optimise the flow of air around the wheel, minimising the air resistance caused by the rolling eContact.

Continental claims that their design minimises rolling resistance by 20%, allowing electric vehicles to travel 3% further on a single charge. Some models further incorporate a technology called ContiSilent, a layer of polyurethene foam bonded to the tyre which Continental claims can reduce cabin noise by 9 decibels. Other models that feature ContiSeal are designed to close tread punctures of a maximum of 5mm. At Tyres.co.uk, we have the Continental eContact, including the ContiSilent and ContiSeal models.

I have driven about 500 miles on these tyres since I got them and they have been amazing so far! They handle heavy rain really well and I feel much more stable. I also appreciate the reduced road noise because it makes the journey much better and relaxing.
