Aspire XP Winter Tyres description & features

The Apollo Aspire XP Winter tyre is designed to deal with the challenges of winter driving by moving water and slush away from its tread and can do this thanks to its directional V-shaped design and channel cuts which lead to the outer edge. Its tread has many micro slits which increase the amount of grip the tyre has on snow and ice. Because of its design, this tyre has to be fitted with the rotation arrow which is printed on the sidewall and must be facing ahead.

The Aspire XP Winter has both the M+S and 3PMSF markings which means it is classified as both a mud and snow tyre and has also been tested and approved to meet the Minimum Requirements for snow-traction. The performance of the new tyres is completely on par with the Vredestein tyres they replaced. The only weather condition I haven't tested them in is deep snow. But like the set that came with the car, these tyres excel in light snow, icy ungritted roads, drizzle, rain, puddles, and cool dry conditions. There is slightly more road noise than the previous set of tyres, and I think it is only going to be slight at best from the driver's seat. I haven't had them long enough to evaluate how they will wear, but I assume they will be like any other tyres and provide about 40k miles of service over the course of five winters.

I just fitted the Apollo EnduRace RA tyres on my car and I can already feel the difference. They grip well on wet and dry surfaces and are surprisingly quiet. I am looking forward to seeing how they wear and perform over the next few months.

These tyres provide much better grip than the originals. They're really good, although for £95 each, you would expect them to be from a well-known brand like Bridgestones. They are also from an unknown brand, and it's still a lot. Replacing all four tyres was a pretty expensive business.

I have put approximately 3000 miles on these tyres and they have good performance in dry conditions but I have noticed a small decrease in the ability to grip in wet conditions. However, as long as the roads are dry, the performance is good. They are ok for general use, but be careful when it is wet.
