Product description & features

The Yokohama Advan Sport V105 is an ultra-high-performance summer tyre with an emphasis on high-speed steering for performance cars. The V105 uses a silica-rich tread compound, and thanks to Yokohama’s Orange Oil technology, uses orange oil for flexibility in rubber. The asymmetric tread design has large cornering blocks with water channels in the tread running from the front to the back in addition to 4 central grooves. The V105 uses Matrix Body Ply, Yokohama’s casing design which balances load pressure, and helps the tyre maintain its shape for improved performance at speed.

The V105 has some versions with sidewall markings of MO, Mercedes-Benz’s, and N0, Porsche’s sidewall approval, which indicates the tyre was made to conform to each Maker’s Regulation; it is recommended the same markings are used to replace original-equipment tyre. Yokohama later replaced the V105 with the Advan Sport V107. At Tyres.co.uk, we offer the Advan Sport V105.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Sport V105 235/40R19 92Y
I have used these tyres before as they were on the car when I purchased it, and they do their job as expected. That said, there are some cracks along the centre of the tread.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Sport V105 235/40R19 92Y
The supercharged Lotus Elise has these tyres. They were reliable at my most recent track day. They showed little to no fading and grip loss. A bit of graining at the end of the day meant that I had a great time! Even after 40 minutes of full power on the track, the tyres were consistent.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Sport V105 235/40R19 92Y
The Yokohama tyres required replacement after 17,000 miles, which is disappointing. I've used Pirelli, Michelin and Continental previously, and have found Yokohama to be the least impressive. Currently, I'm driving on Toyo Proxes Sport and so far they have been performing well. Since I drive more than 50,000 miles a year, my tyres don't last a long time, but the Yokohamas really underperformed. Michelin is probably the best.
