The Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 is an SUV winter tyre that prioritises performance and winter safety. Its directional V shape is designed to handle wet weather by channeling water and slush away from the tyre. Pirelli’s use of zig-zag sipes on their winter treads also aids in snow handling by providing extra gripping edges on the blocks of the tread. Its winter compound remains flexible at low temperatures to improve its grip on cold road surfaces.

The Scorpion Winter 2 has been improved from the original Scorpion Winter, Pirelli’s line of winter performance SUV tyres. Its sidewall includes the 3PMSF snow symbol which signifies it meets the snow traction standards. Some sizes of the Scorpion Winter 2 also include the ELECT mark, which means it adheres to Pirelli’s specifications for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. I bought these tyres for the winter period. As for the reason why I decided to buy them, 80% of the confidence I had in the brand influenced the decision. The other 20% was a result of confidence in the sales advisor from a previous purchase. Unfortunately, these tyres do not offer the required performance in winter conditions in Quebec. I didn't expect them to be this slippery and have such poor grip on snow and ice.

In my opinion, the grip on these winter tyres could be better. Compared to the other winter tyres I have on my other cars, it seems that it might have to do with the design of the tyre rather than the rubber compound.

The tyres are overall very good. The tread design is good for icy and snowy roads. I have noticed that they don't grip as well when cornering. However, I believe that is more of a concern with my car as I am only able to fit wide tyres that aren't good for snow. I do think these are the best winter tyres I have owned. I only wish I could change to narrower tyres.

Excellent grip, I've tested plenty of other brands, but these are in a league of their own. It's the first time I've really experienced what winter tyres should be like. None of my old tyres even came close to their performance. Would highly recommend.
