The Cinturato P7 Blue from Pirelli is an option in the high performance summer tyre category. These tyres have a particular focus on performance in wet conditions and offer a reduction in fuel consumption over their predecessors due to the specific tread and tyre compound. These tyres also feature 4 channels that run from the front to the back of the tyre aiding in the evacuation of water that is standing on the road surface and an outer shoulder that aids in maintaining the tyre's integrity during the cornering process. Additionally, the design of the tread and the layout of the blocks in the tread pattern assist with the reduction of road noise.

The P7 Blue is the first Pirelli summer tyre to be sold with the EU’s double A Label thanks to the first P7 Blue size having an A rating in wet braking and a fuel rating of A. Normally I would have no issue with any of these tyres, aside from this front left having a slow leak, meaning it needs to be pumped up a lot. Considering this was fine before the tyres were fitted, I do not believe it to be a problem the tyre Monitoring System. The pump gauge shows pressure is dropping, even it.

I have Pirelli P7 tyres in the back now, and they are significantly quieter than the old Pirelli run-flats, which used tougher rubber. The ride is also more comfortable. When the time comes, I'll put the same ones in front. The run-flats used to lose air all the time in the cold, so I had to top them up all the time.

I will compare the non-runflat version of the original P7s run-flats, which I used for about five years. I have been using the non-runflat C2s for a couple of months. It seems Pirelli has managed to improve the previous P7 by only a little sacrificing handling, brakes, and dry and wet traction. These new tyres are a lot more quiet and comfortable. I used to get about 4-4.5 weeks of fuel with the P7s and now I get about 5 weeks or slightly more with the C2s, while the Conti EcoContacts give me 5-5.5 weeks (I drive very economically). The difference is quite interesting considering the C2s are rated C for fuel economy and the Continentals are rated A. It makes you question the labels, but considering fuel economy is just a portion of the performance I have to say I prefer the C2s. They have improved noise, comfort, and fuel economy. In conclusion, these tyres have no compromises.

Over the weekend when the tyres were checked, I was a bit worried. Three had lost 3 pounds of pressure, but one was down 10! It was checked again, and the pressure was fine, it's the same today. It's still in good shape. I have to cover 500 miles in the next three days, so I hope it stays the same.

I was a little disheartened to begin with as noise from the road didn't seem to improve a great deal after the tyres were fitted. However, after about five hundred miles, the noise appeared to improve. Now, with two thousand miles on the clock, I would say the noise has improved at least 20%. It's clear that I have come to like the car and the plans of selling it have been abandoned.
