The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 is a winter tyre that maintains flexibility at low temperatures. This is achieved using Michelin’s Helio Compound 4G, combined with sunflower oil. The Pilot Alpin PA4 also has a V-shaped tread which handles the removal of water and slush. 3D sipes (StabiliGrip) also provide traction in winter.

There are also outer edge blocks designed to provide support during cornering (combined with the removal channels in the middle tread). Certain sizes also have Michelin’s ZP run-flat construction. The PA4 is designed for winter use under 7 degrees C, and is available in sizes 17 to 21 inches. We sell the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 with ZP run-flats here at Tyres.co.uk.

I'm pleasantly surprised. The grip is extraordinary and after changing from runflats (and retaining an inflation kit in the boot), the ride and response of the car have significantly improved. I am very happy with this purchase.

Drove a lot this winter in my Audi S5. Snow and ice handling is brilliant. Not like those soft winter tyres. Feels just as responsive as my summer tyres.

Even though October is about to end, it is still mild here in Nova Scotia. I have now put Michelin winter tyres on. During hot summer months I use Continental Extreme tyres on my 2009 A3 3.2 VR6.

I just used these tyres for a trip from London to West Lavington, which took roughly 2.5 hours. While we are only just entering the depth of winter, heavy rain and muddy patches were present. These tyres gave excellent handling and grip on my powerful rear-wheel drive car. I never had to worry about stability or getting stuck in the mud when I drove onto the country estate.
