Product description & features

Low-rolling-resistance summer tyres that are developed for passenger vehicles are the Michelin e.Primacy E1. Michelin’s Energy Passive Compound reduces flexing heat and when the compound rolls, reduces the energy loss. Michelin’s MaxTouch Construction creates an even wear pattern by spreading the forces of braking, acceleration and cornering throughout the tread. This tyre, along with natural rubber, has recycled carbon black and recycled steel. These materials complement Michelin’s 45% sustainable-material content.

The e.Primacy reduces fuel consumption by 0.21 litres per 100 km compared to four main competitors when tested for rolling resistance. Michelin introduced the e.Primacy in 2021, and it was then the first carbon-neutral tyre at the time of sale, as the total emissions were offset for the tyre’s life span. These are Tesla-specific T2 tyres, which have a tread depth of 6mm rather than the usual 8mm. While the tyre's noise is not an issue, its sidewalls are rather rigid, which helps with road feel and handling, but means that the tyres do not dampen the undulations of the UK roads as well.

The tyres are definitely quieter than the original Michelin EV ones and also have decent mileage. Both these the local garage are notable benefits for an electric vehicle. Since an EV is quiet by nature, any noise from the tyres becomes more noticeable, so it is important to have quieter ones.

The tyres are significantly more silent than the Hankook EV6 ones that were originally fitted to the car! They appear to be wearing good, showing us no signs. They perform well in the rain with great grip.

While I appreciate the recommendation for these tyres, since fitting, I'm now really disappointed due to their lack of grip. When I set off, there's just spinning wheels, no traction. I also find it difficult to turn because they just slip. It is most annoying that I have to really engage with the car so that the traction control cuts in. Additionally, I have already had a puncture from a tiny 5mm flint and the tyres have not even covered 700 miles yet. I feel like I am going to have to replace them soon.

I do most of my driving on motorways which are great, but I find the grip isn't as strong on snow and wet grass. I tend to avoid those conditions anyway. I'm really pleased with how they wear, they're quiet, provide a comfortable ride, and they're economical too.

I am impressed with these tyres since they offer excellent grip, produce minimal noise, and improve rolling resistance to provide an approximate 5 to 10 percent increase in range. They are equally as good as - if not better than - the Pirelli 'MO' tyres that came with my EQA. During the recent rainy weather, these tyres have been incredible and have shown outstanding performance in cornering, braking, and accelerated wheel spin. I am glad I went with Michelin, a great tyre company, and while these were made for Renault, they fit my Mercedes and cost less than the Pirelli's. I recommend them.

I had Ecopia tyres before but the stability of the fantastic tyres is incredible. The traction and grip are really good compared to the Ecopias. Improvements to the car have been significant. It used to feel quite jittery, but it doesn't anymore. The impact from the fantastic tyres is way better than the impact any other tyres I have used on other cars.
