The Michelin Energy Saver tyre is an environmentally friendly choice for the summer driving season. The design and construction of these tyres resist heat build up and mitigate rolling resistance. Michelin builds the Energy Saver tyres with silicate treads in order to lessen the friction that takes place every time the wheel rotates. The Energy Saver construction also utilises a lightweight, less material, and more structurally supportive sublayer. The Energy Saver tyres are designed to require less energy to sustain motion.

The Green X logo that appears on the sidewall of the Energy Saver tyres indicates to the consumer that this tyre will lessen fuel consumption. An Eco N Grip compound was developed for the Energy Saver + that lessens heat retention in the tread. Michelin reinforced the XL construction for load specific applications. The tyres are great but it was frustrating having to replace the valves later on. I would rather spend a little more up front to get new tyres with valves so I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle and expense of changing the valves later.

Excellent performance across all conditions including wet, dry and snow. They still perform great on winter roads, however, their winter grip is expectedly limited because they are summer tyres. The tyres are very good at lasting and maintained 6mm of tread after 8,000 miles, which is very impressive. I would only really consider the Cross Climate 2 tyres as an alternative, though I'm still leaning towards Michelin.

I've been trying these Michelin tyres for a few weeks, and I've been really impressed with how well they grip the road, and with that, the confidence they give me for my safety. The other morning during a drive, I had to stop suddenly because another car pulled across in front of me at a staggered junction while I was going 50mph. I had to brake suddenly, and the tyres kept good grip on the road, and I also had to swerve to avoid the car in front of me. Although the road was wet, my Mini Cooper remained completely steady without any slipping at all. It was a very tense situation Michelin handled the situation brilliantly.

I have observed 39 MPG to 47 MPG fuel consumption improvement. I have a pair of Michelin tyres on the front of my car, and some older ones on the back. The difference is huge and the front tyres have saved me from sliding off the road several times. The back tyres lose traction sometimes, but the front ones hold me on the road, which makes me feel more confident. After 20 months, the Michelins still have a lot of tread left and are much quieter. I can't fault them at all and they are worth the money.
