The Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ is designed for performance when stopping on cold, wet roads, or on ice and snow. Its winter grip technology consists of a specially formulated compound designed to remain pliable at lower temperatures. The directional tread is comprised of V-shaped channels that push water and pack away slush from the tyre's contact patch with the road. The blocks on the outer edge remain stable during braking and turning due to an external brace. Traction Protect Technology helps the tyre improve is braking contact with wet and dry pavement.

The UltraGrip Performance+ replaces the UltraGrip Performance Gen-1. The UltraGrip Performance+ SUV is its version that is specific to SUVs. These are winter tyres, and with the all-wheel drive system in the S3, the car was unstoppable. The handling and braking were also top notch.

Excellent traction with recent cold and wet weather, and almost no wheel spin. They are not as sharp as my Michelin Pilot Sports, but it isn't a huge difference. Snow testing is still required.
