History

Farroad Tyres was founded in 2007 and is a Chinese manufacturer, owned by the Shandong Fengyuan Tire Manufacturing Group which also owns several other subsidiaries and tyre brands.

The tyres produced by Farroad are distributed all over the world, meeting global safety standards for road driving as well as mixed terrain driving. Among the attributes of Farroad Tyres, affordability and quality are often noted, alongside excellent handling with special focus on wet grip.

Farroad’s Position on the Tyre Market

The Farroad Tyre brand sits within the mid-range market, with high quality tyres that are affordable but not as cheap to purchase as budget tyres. While Farroad Tyres do not meet the same high-performance standards as brands like Michelin and Bridgestone, which occupy the premium end of the market, they do support high quality handling, cornering, safety and comfort.

When it comes to listing the benefits of Farroad tyres, drivers cite affordability, international certifications, durability and versatility among some of the top benefits of the brand and its collection. With tyres for different vehicles and driving conditions, Farroad has all-season, summer, and winter tyres as part of its range – with UK drivers able to choose between all-season tyres for year-round driving, or summer or winter specific tyres for optimised performance.

Popular Models and Collections

With Farroad tyres representing an affordable option for drivers of regular cars, light trucks and vans, SUVs, and performance vehicles, the most popular tyres in the brand’s collection will vary from one driver to the next.

However, the top rated tyres include the Farroad FRD88 summer tyres for high-performance passenger car driving, the Farroad Arctic STU99 winter tyres, and the Farroad FRD66 all-season tyres.

The FRD88 summer tyres support high-performance driving, in part thanks to the speed index that supports heavy acceleration, and in part with their complex tread design that supports dry road handling and wet grip. The STU99 tyres, meanwhile, resist hydroplaning in challenging conditions and have Z-shaped grooves which optimise handling when cornering and accelerating in cold weather.

The all-season FRD66 tyres are among the more expensive models from Farroad but are designed for year-round safety and performance. Suitable for everyday driving and for navigating varying terrains in an SUV, these all-season tyres have additional shoulder blocks for stability and can easily dispel water from the tyres in wet conditions. The snow traction is adequate, while the design of the tread pattern means these tyres can be used on rough terrain and challenging surfaces as well as smooth roads. Every Farroad tyre on Tyres.co.uk comes with competitive pricing and the option to book local fitting at checkout.

Browsing the Farroad Catalogue by Season
Farroad has a range of tyres for different vehicles as well as different terrains and seasons. While UK drivers can access the versatile benefits of all-season tyres, drivers often lean towards the performance-enhancing benefits of summer or winter tyres in different situations. Here are some of the design traits of specific seasonal tyres, and how to identify the right ones for you from the Farroad range.
All-season tyres combine the benefits of winter and summer tyres, ensuring safety on the roads all-year round. UK drivers can access these benefits thanks to our temperate climate and lack of extreme weather events, with the best Farroad all-season tyres including models like the FRD66 and Farroad FRD16 tyres. . Other all-season tyres made by Farroad include the FRD866 tyres for SUVs and passenger cars, and the FRD88 tyres all-season / summer tyres.
Summer tyres balance dry performance and wet grip, dispelling surface water and maximising traction and stability under high temperatures. These tyres are often made from a strong rubber with reinforced sidewalls, with the top Farroad summer tyres including the aforementioned FRD88, which have some attributes of all-season tyres but perform best in the summer.
Winter tyres are specifically designed to optimise traction, grip, and safety in challenging weather conditions. With deep tread grooves and thick tread blocks, these tyres are made with pliable rubber to ensure flexibility and dispel ice and snow with ease. The Farroad Arctic SU99 tyres are the best winter tyres, managing the needs of drivers in winter conditions and on harsh terrains.

Choosing the Right Tyres for Your Vehicle

The best tyres for your vehicle will depend on tyre size and specification, the climate you are driving in, and on what you prioritise. While not the cheapest car tyres on the market, Farroad Tyres do not match the performance of premium brands like Continental and Goodyear – though they do support longevity and durability.
