Tyre review for Dunlop SP SportMaxx GT 235/50R18 97V
These are great tyres for everyday use, offering fantastic grip on the road with minimal noise. They're large, wide, low-profile runflats, which means they are quite likely to sustain sidewall damage if you hit a pothole. In the three years I've owned the car (it's done 23,000 miles since new), I have had to replace all four tyres due to side wall damage. I had my last tyre replaced last week, so I can't comment on their longevity. One of the tyres I had changed had 4mm of tread, which isn't bad for a car of this type after 23,000 miles. I don't think any other brand of tyre would have performed better on these bumpy roads. On the bright side, the runflat feature worked really well as, for all four incidents, I was able to drive slowly to a garage for replacements without being stranded.
