The Cooper 4XS has been designed as an SUV and 4x4 tyre for all-season use that is primarily for road use but can also cope with light off road use. Its tread design has a directional groove pattern which assists with the removal of water from the contact patch and has slits in the tread which create additional edges for traction on wet roads. The outer blocks of the tread assist the tyre in tread deformation in sharp turns and give additional support for uneven surfaces.
The casing of the 4XS Cooper has been designed with the additional weight and higher centre of gravity of SUVs and 4x4s in mind and the tread pattern has been designed to give pressure distribution across the tread to assist with the tyre having an even wear throughout its life.
