Product description & features

Continental CrossContact is a half-road half-off-road tyre, ideal for dealing with tarmac and off-road driving. Its tread design has block stabilisation on the outer edges for braking and steering on-road and a smooth central tread. Flat tread design is said to improve tread life, and CrossContact AT is made with Continental’s high-mileage design brief in mind.

CrossContact AT comes with the M+S marking on the sidewall, indicating a mud and snow application. This actually refers to the tyre’s use on loose surfaces and the road. CrossContact ATR has replaced the CrossContact AT in Continental’s offering dedicated to mixed surface applications. Tyres.co.uk has CrossContact AT in stock.

Highlights

  • Half-road, half-off-road use
  • Outer tread block stabilisation
  • Smooth central tread

I have not tested them in snow or other tough weather/ off road conditions, but they have performed brilliantly up to this point. Overall, I am very satisfied with these tyres.

Tyre review for Continental Cross Contact AT 235/85R16 114Q
The tyres are alright, but I am worried regarding potential damage on the internal sidewalls like what happened before. It could be potholes, though. On my other car which I do around 7,000 miles a year, I'll go with the tyres that the manufacturer picked.

Tyre review for Continental Cross Contact AT 235/85R16 114Q
They managed to do well until they got to 40,000 miles. After that, their wet grip has gone to poor. They are going quickly, and I believe they will need replacing after 60,000. They still give ok value for what they cost, but do tend to wear quickly and lose grip after 40,000.

Tyre review for Continental Cross Contact AT 235/85R16 114Q
These are perfect tyres for my Defender. They have improved the vehicle so much with the road handling being significantly better and the noise being much lower. Most importantly they are very good when it comes to wet conditions. They also appear to do well off road.
