Product description & features

The Continental AllSeasonContact 2 introduces the benefit of improved mileage and wet braking, when compared to its original AllSeasonContact model. While it is better in those areas, it is still certified to be used in winter conditions. It has an aggressive V-shaped pattern in the tread of the tyre, designed to guide water away from the contact area and to the edge of the tyre. It has a C-shaped block to maintain and improve steering response on dry surfaces and has micro cuts in the treads to improve grip on cold surfaces and snow. The polymer and plasticizer compound from Continental maintains flexibility in varying temperatures for better grip.

It is the replacement to the AllSeasonContact and has a reported improvement of 15% in mileage and 3% in wet braking distance, in comparison to the original model, not to mention improved Rolling Resistance by 6%. The tyre is certified with the 3PMSF mark and is available with reinforced XL construction. You can find both of these options at Tyres.co.uk.

Highlights

  • Improved mileage and wet braking
  • V-shaped tread pattern
  • Micro cuts for snow grip
  • 3PMSF winter certification

Tyre review for Continental All Season Contact 2 235/45R18 98Y XL
These new tyres are better than the EcoContact 5 (or 6?) that came with the car when I bought it and had to be replaced after 22,500 miles - which I found to be a bit low. I've had these new tyres for about 1,500 miles. The difference is clear. The new tyres are quieter and give a better ride irrespective of the road. The grip while cornering has improved a lot as well. I was surprised at how much better these tyres are. The fuel consumption is the same. The tyre noise while travelling at 70 mph on the motorway is almost silent. I've only used these tyres in the cold and in the rain, ice and some snow, and they've done well in all these conditions. I don't know how they will perform in the summer but I don't see any faults now. My family travels in the best tyres and that makes me happy.
