305/30 R23 is ideal for big SUVs but also one of the widest and lowest tyre profiles. The first number displays the width of the tyre, in this case 305mm. The second number is a 30% ratio, meaning the sidewall of the tyre is 92mm. The R stands for a radial tyre on a 23-inch rim. This gives an overall diameter of 767mm. Due to the large rim, the sidewall is only 92mm. Tyres with this profile should be fitted with care, as they are prone to damage. Tyres.co.uk also sells the XL versions of this tyre.
