Product description & features

The Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 is an asymmetric tyre that features Yokohama’s Lightning Groove technology. This features angled grooves that carry water from the middle of the tread surface to the edge in order to improve wet grip. Yokohama’s Advanced Nano Blend Compound features silica to improve grip on hot damp tarmac. The shoulder blocks form a stiff shoulder in order to resist flex when steering.

The 5-pitch sequence helps to reduce tread pattern noise. Reinforced XL construction, which increases the load capacity of the tyre, is offered in some sizes. You can find the Yokohama Advan Fleva V701, in both standard and reinforced XL constructions, at Tyres.co.uk.

Highlights

  • Asymmetric tread with angled grooves
  • Silica compound for damp roads
  • Stiff shoulder blocks
  • Reduced tread pattern noise

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 225/45R18 95W XL
Ever since I changed to these tyres, I've seen a big drop in the amount of fuel I use and how loud the tyres are on the motorways. They do a good job at gripping the road in the rain, even if the steering feels a bit less responsive than when I had Avons.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 225/45R18 95W XL
I'm very pleased with my Yokohama tyres. They perform equally as well as the Michelin PS4S tyres I had previously in dry and wet conditions. They are also significantly quieter and more than 30% cheaper than the Michelins. I am now interested in how long they will last as the Michelins lasted almost 20,000 miles.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 225/45R18 95W XL
They seem to be quieter than the previous tyres. I haven't tested their grip in the wet yet. They feel similar to my last set of tyres, maybe.

Tyre review for Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 225/45R18 95W XL
It took an exceptionally long time for these tyres to settle. To begin with, they made the car jittery and caused vibrations. I checked the balance and tracking twice, and all appeared fine. I had previously used the Pirelli P Zero and was not particularly happy with how quickly they wore out, so having read reviews for Mercedes, I selected these tyres as they appeared to have good reviews and were priced fairly. After 8000 miles, the vibrations finally stopped and I was worried that there was something seriously wrong with my car! In comparison to what was advertised, the noise level is not as expected. They were meant to be quiet yet minimal tread noise turned into a constant hum at certain speeds. I chose these as they were meant to have lower levels of noise as I wanted to quieter tyres as I transport clients. I have been extremely disappointed with these tyres and will definitely be looking for a different brand next time. I will be avoiding Bridgestone as they have previously let me down worse. I may have to go back to Pirelli as they did not cause me issues with handling or noise.

Seems pretty good, grips when needed but will let go at the right time (if you catch my drift).
