Wet braking and resistance to aquaplaning are the main concerns with the Uniroyal RainSport 5. Uniroyal has built this tyre with a directional tread featuring a V shape. Water is channeled by this design from the centre to the outer edge of the tyre. Inside the grooves of the tread, the stall of flow of water and turbulence is handled by the finish of Shark Skin Technology. Edge sipes are integrated in the tread and aid in water removal and provide grip while braking and turning.

The RainSport 5 has replaced the 3 and has an anticipated 15% increase in lifespan. There are also versions which can carry a heavier load; these are the RainSport 5 XL, which have reinforced sidewalls. These tyres should only be used when the temperature is higher than approximately 7 degrees Celsius. Tyres.co.uk also has XL versions.

Excellent grip on dry surfaces, even when driving heavier vehicles like the Volvo XC90. Gives you confidence driving on wet surfaces and proves to be great on grassy surfaces as well. Would definitely recommend.

My wife's Yaris has been performing well with these tyres. She noticed better traction and handling in the wet. Noise is also something I haven't noticed a difference in. Grip and braking are more important to me. I will buy these again for sure.
