Product description & features

Pirelli Powergy's summer passenger car and SUV tyres revolve around their ability to develop maximum braking force on damp surfaces. As well as this, they can remove water from the contact patch rapidly when the weather is warm. The Powergy features an asymmetric design with three wide straight channels from the front to the back. These design elements also feature a wide array of small slits and channels to improve braking and grip on wet surfaces. The outside edge is designed to stabilise the tyre through cornering.

The Powergy was designed to improve the energy used to roll the tyre, thanks to its low rolling resistance. XL construction is also offered, which is used to strengthen the sidewalls on vehicles with a higher load demand. You can find the Pirelli Powergy on Tyres.co.uk.

Highlights

  • Asymmetric tread with three wide channels
  • Small slits for wet grip

Tyre review for Pirelli Powergy 215/40R17 87Y XL
I typically go for Continental tyres and will continue to do so when buying my next set. Pirelli tyres do not compare. There's a lot of understeer in dry conditions, so that's a serious problem. Pirelli really needs to improve. I found them to be overpriced and quite a letdown, given that I expected a premium product from that brand.

Tyre review for Pirelli Powergy 215/40R17 87Y XL
There are no issues to report. They seemed stable and sticky over the summer. I have not yet had the opportunity to test them in the cold.
