Product description & features

The Kumho WinterCraft WP51 tyre is a winter tyre designed for traction on snow and wet ice roads. It has a V-shaped directional tread which improves traction and channels away slush and water quickly. Closely placed, zig-zag winter sipe tread design increases traction in biting edge traction while the winter tread compound increases flexibility in low temperatures.

These WP51 tyres have the M+S and 3PMSF marking on their sidewalls. The 3PMSF marking on these tyres is to show that the tyre meets the minimum requirements necessary for certification of winter tyres with regards to snow grip. The winter tread design with high surface area of sipes is specifically designed for cold and wet conditions where temperatures are below 7 degrees Celsius. These Kumho WinterCraft WP51 tyres can be purchased at Tyres.co.uk.

Tyre review for Kumho WinterCraft WP51 165/70R14 81T
When it comes to dry conditions and temperatures above 10°C, these budget winter tyres do not provide the same level of stability that summer or all-season tyres do. They are good for city driving and for straight driving on motorways, but not for high-speed cornering. They do a good job at dealing with standing water, and driving slowly in the rain is more comfortable. They're also noticeably more grippy on chilly mornings and frosty weather as opposed to summer tyres. I've yet to test them in the snow, but considering how well they perform in cold and wet conditions, I believe they would also do well in snowy conditions. I might consider buying high-end winter tyres in case of comfort preferences during autumn and winter days.
