The Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39 is a summer tyre with an ultra-high-performance rating. It features a silica tread compound designed for use on wet roads. It also has 4 wide drainage grooves that carry moisture from the tyre/rubber road interface. When it rains heavily drainage grooves carry the moisture away from road contact. The asymmetric tyre tread pattern has large exterior blocks of tread and fine slits throughout the tread.

The slit design creates traction on wet roads. The sidewall of the KU39 has been reinforced to support the tread when the tyres are under the lateral stress of a directional change. The KU39 has been replaced by the Ecsta PS71 in the Ecsta summer road use performance line. Tyres.co.uk has the Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39 for sale.

Purchased these to replace the Hankooks on my 1.6 Ford Focus Estate company car. I don't cover long distances, but instead, I do a lot of city driving which usually results in more wear on the edges of the tyres. These Kumhos seem to have sturdier edges, so fingers crossed they'll last longer! I was able to get them at a great price due to a discount code.

First-class tyres at a fair price. These tyres exceeded my expectations given that I was replacing a set of Continental EcoContacts. In regards to steering responsiveness, they feel more agile than the Contis, and excel in dry conditions. Comfort and noise are even better. These tyres absorb bumps better than expected for 45 profile ultra-performance tyres. Road noise is much better than the Contis, which changes the feel of the car. I expect them to last well given the wear rate of 280. The tread is sporty with squared shoulders. I haven't tested them much in the wet yet, but I would definitely buy them again.

Value Tyres That Do Not Compromise On Performance I typically prefer premium tyres, however, with this car being at the end of it's life, I had to go for a more budget orientated option. I was surprised at how well the car handles with these tyres. A good option for those looking for a budget tyre.

I sold my car after having the tyres for 6 months, limiting how much I can say about them. To begin with, I noticed the tyres were pretty silent compared to the last set I had, although I can't remember what the last brand was. I do the majority of my driving on the weekends and I do about 3000-4000 miles a year. The tyres seemed to be really good in hot and cold weather, as well as in town and on the motorways, although they did seem to be quiet. If you pushed the car a bit, there was some understeer, but since it's a family car, it wasn't a big deal. Yes, I would buy them again, just not for a sports car.

Compared to the previously fitted Bridgestone Potenza's, grip is significantly improved especially on wet tarmac. Although there is a small increase in fuel consumption, the improved handling and reduced understeer is more notable.
