Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).
These tyres have been specifically designed for fitment and use on cars.
The Hankook Ventus Prime 3 (K125) is a summer passengers’ car touring tyre designed for optimised braking on wet roads and improved water drainage. Asymmetric tread with 4 wide grooves run from front to back. Angled channel grooves and rigid braking and steering (load) blocks in the outer rib are complemented by brace (rib) blocks for outer steering support. Silica-rich compounds are meant to enhance wet surface grip while lowering rolling resistance. Noise Care Pitch is a variable block spacing design meant to control tread impact noise.
The K125 was developed after the Ventus Prime 2 (K115) and was later replaced by the Ventus Prime 4 (K135). It is also available in reinforced XL construction for higher load capacity (tiered construction). EU label grades are size dependent. Tyres.co.uk has the Hankook Ventus Prime 3 (K125), including the reinforced XL versions.
