The Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ is designed for performance when stopping on cold, wet roads, or on ice and snow. Its winter grip technology consists of a specially formulated compound designed to remain pliable at lower temperatures. The directional tread is comprised of V-shaped channels that push water and pack away slush from the tyre's contact patch with the road. The blocks on the outer edge remain stable during braking and turning due to an external brace. Traction Protect Technology helps the tyre improve is braking contact with wet and dry pavement.

The UltraGrip Performance+ replaces the UltraGrip Performance Gen-1. The UltraGrip Performance+ SUV is its version that is specific to SUVs. I have not yet had the opportunity to test them in snow and ice, but they give outstanding traction in rain slicked roads.

I still slide on ice and the braking is about the same as the set of Michelin tyres I used to have on my other SUV. I expected better based on all the reviews and info I read. Overall, it's just a standard winter tyre. Not great, but not terrible either.

They are not exceptional, but the work well enough for our short drives in the city. I don't know how they would perform during real winter conditions outside the town.
