A directional, V-shaped tread pattern works to clear water and slush quickly, reducing the likelihood of aquaplaning. Deep circumferential grooves help move standing water away from the contact patch, while dense siping creates extra biting edges to improve traction and braking on compacted snow. The tread blocks are shaped to stay stable under load, so the tyre remains predictable through bends and during motorway cruising.
