Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV 4x4 summer tyre makes use of cornering response technology in designing an asymmetric tread pattern, which is best suited for large SUVs. The outer shoulder of the tyre is solid while the inner shoulder is open to facilitate water evacuation. Active CornerGrip Technology is used by Goodyear to ensure the tread remains supported during cornering force and it is fortified using rubber compounds. With Silica Plus compound used in its design, Goodyear designed the tread to ensure enhanced grip both on dry and wet pavement surfaces. The inner tread design features water evacuation grooves to the inner side of the tyre.

Some models also have N0 indicated on the sidewall. N0 means that the manufacturer of the tyre has followed all the specifications of Porsche in the manufacture of its Cayenne tyre and hence the tyre should be fitted on the vehicle. It will continue to comply with the specifications once it has been installed on the vehicle. Some sizes are fitted with the additional feature of rim protection strips to ensure there is no damage to the outer edge of the wheel. I've put roughly 2000 miles on these and they're breaking in nicely. The steering is more responsive now, which I suppose was due to the old tyres being worn out from a significant tracking issue on the front left from the past owner.

Excellent work - they are noticeably more silent than the original Bridgestones which had roughly 5mm of tread left on them. These are the most silent and most economical tyres I have found in this size (285/45/19). After 2000 miles of driving in France, I've seen an increase in fuel economy by 1.5mpg, now just under 30mpg, in comparison to the last 20,000 miles on Bridgestones.

So far, my testing has only been done in dry conditions. These replaced my non-runflat Uniroyal RainSport tyres. The RainSport tyres were great at cutting through water, but relatively poor for all-weather cornering. Considering they are runflats, these Eagles provide a far superior ride and greatly improved handling on the dry bends. It is an improvement, though they are not to be considered exceptional. Looking forward to testing the wet handling.
