Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is a summer tyre focused on improving performance during wet conditions with an innovative asymmetric design. Goodyear claims that the innovation is that the design allows the rubber to hammer tiny bits of the wet road, increasing contact, and therefore, friction. It is also designed to guide the water away from the centre grooves to improve dry performance. The outer edge of the design has large blocks that provide support when cornering.

The Asymmetric 6 replaced the Asymmetric 5 in 2022. Goodyear also claims that their SoundComfort Technology are tyre inserts made of polyurethane that help absorb and lower the noise caused by the air moving in and out of the tyre. Tyres.co.uk sells the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, SoundComfort editions included.

Highlights

  • Summer tyre for wet conditions
  • Asymmetric tread design

This is my third time buying Asy 6 tyres. I can say they are great for daily driving, no matter the weather, I can also confidently say they are great for track days!

They improve the steering response and make it less rigid. They also save fuel and road noise is less.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 6) 255/45R20 105Y XL
The front tyres are sticking well in both wet and dry conditions. Since these are summer tyres, as opposed to the all-season ones I previously had, the ride comfort has improved slightly.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 6) 255/45R20 105Y XL
The tyres look reasonable, but they are purely summer tyres, not the all-season three-peak VREDESTEIN ones that MB used to swap in place of the originals scorpion ones that didn't perform well.
