Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 uses an asymmetric tread design to maximise both responsiveness and braking. The tread is split into distinct block layouts. Goodyear has a special name for their braking tech; they call it ActiveBraking Technology. This design creates an edge of braking tread to maximise the surface area of rubber in contact with the road during braking. Coupled with this tech is Power Cushion Technology, which adds stiffness and improves the connection for steering response.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the new and improved version of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 SUV also has the same asymmetric tread layout, but uses a different casing designed to hold the greater weights of SUVs and crossovers. Tyres.co.uk sells the full line of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres, including the heavier SUV variants.

Highlights

  • Asymmetric tread design
  • Braking tread edge
  • Stiffer steering response
  • SUV casing for heavier vehicles

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/40R18 92Y XL
I am not impressed. I had these tyres on my car for four months, and I was shocked to see two bald front tyres flagged on my MOT considering they weren't that old.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/40R18 92Y XL
While I have previously used Michelin or Continental tyres that last longer, these are more affordable. Their performance is good and the feel is quite comparable to Contisport.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/40R18 92Y XL
These tyres have been on my BMW 3 Series M Sport for daily use in all weathers including a recent trip out to Europe. I can say that they give excellent handling and control. I have been using these tyres for 9 months and from my own experience, I recommend them highly.
