Product description & features

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is a summer tyre designed for braking performance. The outer part of the asymmetric tread has large blocks to help with cornering. The inner part has an open design to assist with the removal of water via front-to-back grooves. With ActiveBraking Technology, the contact area of the tread increases the part touching the road when braking. A high-silica compound is used in the tread to assist with grip on the road when it is wet.

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is still available in performance car and SUV fitments. It has a summer construction for temperatures over approximately 7 degrees Celsius. Some variants have reinforced XL sidewalls to handle higher load vehicles. You can find the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on Tyres.co.uk.

Acceptable quality, although run-flats are a bit stiff and create some road noise.

Definitely, spending more money on good brand tyres is worth it. Although they are more expensive, they will last twice as long.

Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 2) 245/50R18 100Y
These tyres don't seem designed for British roads. I've had several performance cars with low profile tyres over 12 years, and I've never had a sidewall bulge until I got my 4 series. I've had to replace these tyres three times in the last year and a half, two times because of bulges (one tyre had three for reasons I can't explain) and then there was a case of a hidden bulge suddenly deflating the tyre on a local road (thankfully not the motorway) after it popped. I tried to avoid these issues as much as possible by slowing down to prevent these issues from hitting potholes, but of course then I had to replace the tyres. Goodyear doesn't seem to deal with issues like these. I only gave them 2 stars because the grip was actually decent in dry and wet conditions and the braking is impressive (the wet grip is particularly impressive). But I would rather not replace the tyres every time I hit a minor bump in the road.

These tyres look good, perform exceptionally well in all weather conditions, and are durable too.

The grip is okay, but you will have a rather firm ride, and you might find the tyres a bit fragile, as the sidewalls can be easily damaged by potholes. I have had to change all my tyres early because of pothole-related MOT failures.

The performance is quieter and they have great traction in dry and wet conditions.
